PARISH MASS
Our Parish mass is held at 9.30am every Sunday followed by biscuits, tea & cake.
Anyone can join, Christian or not, to embrace our long continuity of tradition, culture
and mingle with the Leigh-on-sea community.

Sunday next before Lent
Brothers and sisters,
At his Baptism in the River Jordan a voice was heard to speak from the heavens concerning Jesus. In our Gospel reading this Sunday this same message is repeated again: "This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!"
Led up a mountain to pray, St Peter and St James witness the transfiguration of Jesus. His face shines like the sun, his clothing became dazzling white, and he is seen to be joined by Moses and Elijah, whom he engages in conversation.
There is a great deal that could be made of this event. However, from the perspective of those disciples present it was simply terrifying. But Jesus encourages them not to be afraid. When they raised their head normality appeared to have been restored.
May we never lose sight of the glory, wonder and majesty of God, revealed to us in Jesus Christ, the Beloved Son. Although all too often vailed by the humdrum ordinariness of 'normal' daily life, let us never forget that Jesus walks with us still. Let's be attentive to his presence among us.
