PARISH MASS
Our Parish mass is held at 9.30am every Sunday followed by biscuits, tea & cake.
Anyone can join, Christian or not, to embrace our long continuity of tradition, culture
and mingle with the Leigh-on-sea community.

Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity
Brothers and sisters,
Actions speak louder than words. We know this to be the case and yet we are so often, and so easily, led astray by silver-tongued speakers who promise us the world but fail to deliver.
An obvious example of this might be the rather miserable crop of politicians we have elected time and again in recent decades. Many a fine word is spoken from the green benches of the House of Commons; imagine if there were actions to match them!
This Sunday we are reminded again of the importance of our actions. Jesus poses an hypothetical scenario in which we are led to admit that it would even be better if we said we refuse to do what is right but ultimately do it.
Talk is cheap and actions really to speak louder than words. Let us seek to do what is right, not merely talk about it.
