Ordinary Time
Second Sunday after Trinity
Brothers and sisters,
The Church has a gospel – Good News – to proclaim to all the world, starting from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. But this proclamation is not only to be made in words; by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are equipped to proclaim the Kingdom of God in deed as well.
Of course, this will often mark us out as different to the world, and many will thus seek to oppose us. The Church’s long list of martyrs confirm Christ’s warning was no exaggeration: “See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves.”
Brothers and sisters, in the face of an often hostile world, let us not worry about how to give an account of our faith; the Spirit is our guide, let us be attentive to him.
Every blessing,
Fr Myles
Rector
