Christmastide
The Conversion of St Paul
Brothers and sisters,
This Sunday the Church marks the conversion of St Paul, the famous Road to Damascus moment.
One problem with this story is that it leads us to imagine that all revelation comes to us in a blinding light and sudden realisation. Of course, this is not the case most of the time.
The place of prayer is often overlooked in this story. But Paul and the Christian who comes to help him, Ananias, are men of prayer. It is when they are at prayer that God speaks to them.
May we likewise become people of prayer, open to God’s words to us and ready to respond.
Every blessing,
Fr Myles
Rector
