Baptism

Baptism of an older child (7 years and above) or adult
We welcome enquiries for Baptism for older children and adults. For initial enquiry please contact our parish office. Please include your telephone number and we will be in touch directly to discuss further.

Baptism of an infant child

  • As a parent or Godparent you should ask yourself:
  • Are you prepared to the best of your ability to give the child a Christian upbringing within the family of Christ’s Church?
  • Will you help the child to be regular in public worship and in prayer, not only by your teaching, but also by your example and your prayers?
  • Will you encourage the child in due time to come to Confirmation and to Holy Communion?
  • It is preferable that your child is baptised in the church where you normally worship.  If you don’t live in the parish we recommend you contact your parish church to give notice that you wish to come to Saint Clement's.  You can find your local church by putting your postcode into the search box in A Church Near You.
  • If you would like your child to be baptised at Saint Clement’s please email saintclementsleigh@outlook.com for an Application Form.  The Form will guide you through selecting Godparents and sponsors.

Baptism Preparation. All baptism parties (parents) must attend a short preparation/rehearsal prior to the baptism.  This will be arranged with the priest conducting the service.

For initial enquiry please contact Jane in our parish office: 07884 148148 / saintclementsleigh@outlook.com
