Ordinary Time

Remembrance Sunday, the Third Sunday before Advent

Brothers and sisters,

This Sunday we are reminded that “God is not the god of the dead, but of the living”, for all are alive in him. This is a reference to the life of the Kingdom of God and an assurance of the resurrection.

However, these words perhaps carry a greater poignancy this weekend as the country marks Remembrance Sunday. Even those who have died are to be counted alive in Christ, in him they are not separated from us. And their self-sacrifice is honoured in heaven as on earth.

Every blessing,

Fr Myles

Rector
